Mountain View Estates is a play with dances that exposes the extraordinary
fantasies that inhabit ordinary lives.
A seven-man crew of workers are constructing the latest “model home”
in a giant suburban development. The problems begin when The Homeowner,
a lonely woman whose husband is frequently away, arrives to “check
up on things,” and “make sure the job gets done right.”
The Homeowner is harsh with her criticism, making the crew do much of
their work over in order to meet her insane expectations. What should
have been just another job becomes a nightmare the crew pieces together
The Homeowner’s dream house bit by painstaking bit.
Using the visceral disciplines of drama and dance Mountain View Estates
explores the question: Do we own our dreams or do our dreams own us?
